Permadeath game mode: Can you continue playing after you finish your main quest?

Or does the game end and you've start a new one? Because I'd like to play the game some more with my current character after finishing my main quest.

Overhyped chore list with a pacing that will make you kill yourself out of boredom.
Don't expect it to get better in Sunless Skies.

Go read books if you are that much into reading, because IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

Mark my words : IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

Tribulations of a translator (ENG/SPA) (POTENTIAL SPOILERS)

ENG Hello, fellow zailors I've taken upon myself the task of translating Sunless Sea into Spanish. I know it's a huge endevour and I don't know if I'll ever finish it, but I'm doing it mostly for my own entertainment. If it does come to fruition though, I'll be gald to share it, and open this amazing game to the Spanish-speaking community. As it was to be expected, I've run into some difficulties, and I'm sure I'll run into more still, but I hope some of you may be able to help me extricate the more obs...

Can't Continue or New Game.

I've tried a few times now, Continuing, Loading a save, and New game all aren't working right. Continue, tried to load a save, then had that issue were it "loads" with the top right quarter is sea texture, and the rest is nothing. Just Loading did nothing, until it came back to the title menu with an error. New game, I got tired of waiting after maybe 10 mins. I've verified, and added that mod other posts suggest, but nothing seems to have changed....

An odd heavily story driven game. It hugely relies on the strength of the atmosphere and writing to carry what is truthfully a rather janky little game. The resource management aspect was nailed and it's super tense and scary to scrimp by so closely so often desperately looking for that next port. The combat is where the jank comes in, it's awkward and unwieldy. However the game's strength is emphatically the writing and the atmosphere and the story lines that writing builds. It's simply fantastic, the sheer awesomeness of the world building, characters, astounding and fantastically macabre quests and locations, it's just all so great. Sunless Seas is one of my top three favorite games of all time. I could never get anybody else into this game but I've been telling my friends and family stories from this bad boy for years. My favorite quests, the harrowing ends my captains invariably meet, the crazy crap that befalls me as I accrue curses, trips to the beyond, and boxes of light. It's not for everyone, it's got it's warts but holy hell have I loved this game. I'm still sailing and sinking over seven years later.
